Recent upgrade to windows 7, now desktop background won[t show. Just black
I recently upgraded from w vista to w 7. Now when I choose my desktop background, under appearance and personalization, it just stays black.

I'm afraid that you can't change the background if u r using Windows 7 Starter Edition. It's a limitation of the Starter Edition . Open this with Windows Explorer: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\ and tell me what you see? When choosing only one image for the desktop background there should be only TranscodedWallpaper.jpg and the slideshow.ini should be empty. Is there something inside the .ini file? Maybe it would be possible to force some changes removing the content of the .ini filPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Sorry, but that's not correct. Although Windows 7 Starter Edition comes with no way to change the background, there are workarounds.
